Studies over the years have proven that successful people wake up early in the morning. So early, that they tend to get up their beds even before the official sunrise has started. Waking up early in the morning is so hard that you will not recognize the person who turned off the alarm from the one that turned it on a few hours ago. This scene has happened to the best of us, and it’s a battle that we have been going against for a very good time now.
We know how you want to wake up as early as you can and today we will be talking about the things that you need to look into and consider if you want to wake up early. Without further “snoozing” the topic more; let’s wake up and start the morning right!
The first’s steps are the hardest part
It doesn’t matter if you are trying to wake up early in the morning or if you are trying to create a nuclear weapon, the hardest part is and will always be the first steps forward. When it comes to waking up on time, it is literally the first steps that you take.
Your alarm starts to ring at 5:00 AM and you are at least ten feet away from your alarm clock. You sit straight on your bed and you start to zombie walk towards your alarm and turn it off. After turning the alarm off you go straight right back to your bed and go back to sleep.
Benjamin Franklin once said, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
It doesn’t matter how hard it is, always focus on what you want to achieve. They say that in order to create a habit you need to do what you want for the next 21 days and you’ll eventually get to where you want to be. Since we’re talking about waking up early, then you need to practice waking up as early as 5:00 AM for at least 21 days and you will be doing it like a champ in no time. I worked in a pretty awkward time schedule before and it was a struggle that didn’t go away easily. I had to work my ass off just to make sure that I get it right. But after a few days of practice and waking up over a course of more than a month it finally worked! I found myself waking up earlier than the initial alarm which is something that we would all want.
Feed your brain with the right motivation
Aside from Benjamin Franklin whom we know now as a president who woke up as early as he could, there are a lot of successful people that actually practice this religiously. We suggest reading more about these people and how they become very successful in what they do. It’s not actually something that you need to have a genius figure out what’s going on since all you need to have is simple math abilities. If you wake up late then you will have lesser time to finish your daily duties and end up wishing we had more than twenty-four hours in a day.
Waking up at around 4-5AM will definitely increase your productivity drastically and you will see results almost immediately. Just be ready to refill your coffee mug once in a while to keep the alertness up. In addition, read about people that wake up early and what their daily routines are. Try to imitate the things that you can do on your own and try to do better than them. There are a few non-psychotic early-morning-wakeup routines that you can look for on the internet today.
The right attitude
Now that you’ve read tips and tricks on how to wake up early and maintain the positive attitude you then need to internalize that. As mentioned earlier in this article, the hardest part will always be the beginning. But the real challenge is when you start to implement it on a daily basis without breaking focus; which can only be done with the right attitude. People that are not born with the “winning attitude” will find this hard and frustrating because they will always find ways to fail instead of sucking it all up and going against that never-ending void of not waking up early in the morning. We’re not saying that winners do not fail, but real winners learn from mistakes.
Waking up early can be done by anyone who wants to. It doesn’t matter if you want to sleep for an hour and wake up later, that’s your choice! But in order to maximize the resting time of your body we need to at least sleep six or seven hours per night without any distractions or whatever to let our body and brains sleep properly and completely. Below are points that we need to at least follow to get the best sleep we will ever have and of course, achieve waking up early in the morning.
- Environment – Always try to create a serene place to take a rest at. If you live in the middle of a bustling city then you do need to do some serious renovation in order to achieve that peaceful environment to sleep at. If you leave in a place where it isn’t hard to achieve a silent night’s sleep away from vehicular and city noise then good for you. Aside from noise, it is also important to stimulate your senses to achieve maximum relaxation and faster REM sleep.
- Mattress – Websites like LatexBear provide information on latex mattresses and everything that you want to learn about them, including maintenance tips and tricks. They also provide latex mattress manufacturers for you to choose from. Anyhow, choosing the best mattress for you to sleep at is as important as sleeping on time. It doesn’t matter if you slept as early as 7PM but if you have a mattress that is not worth sleeping at, it would take you ages to actually sleep and get well rested.
- Time – Going to sleep on time every day and waking up early in the morning at the exact same time will definitely give you the advantage in the long run. With our busy schedules, it would be close to impossible to actually go with regular sleeping patterns and this will be one of the hardest things to achieve.
Never press snooze and Respect your wake time
Talking about time, it is really important to never press the snooze button once you have set an alarm for an exact time. This creates a bad habit that you will be stuck with for the rest of your life, start to change that and you will be able to see time differently and respect it more. Turning off alarms as they go off early in the morning might seem something that a teenager would do in movies but in reality, we as adults have done it several times and are guilty of doing it more than we should. I don’t know about you but my alarm clock consists of different time alarms of five-minute intervals before and believe me, it wasn’t something that I was proud of that time. Though I did not have any problems being late, it was a habit that I got so tired of I had to get rid of it as soon as possible. As soon as I started waking up on the exact alarm clock time, I started to respect time itself and felt accomplished and light every time I woke up with a mission to not press the snooze button.
We might take everything for granted when it comes to waking up early because why wake up early if your job starts at 9:00 AM? It’s less than just physically standing up, but is a practice that disciplines you and helps you learn time management. Waking up early also teaches us the value of making the best out of what you have in a day. We also need to keep in mind that there are a lot of factors that we need to keep in check if we want to achieve that perfect sleep that we have always dreamt of!
